Daedalus was a skillful architect, craftsman and artist, and was seen as a symbol of wisdom, knowledge, and power in the ancient Greek myths and legends.  Some creations are:

• Animated wooden dolls and other mechanical toys

• Fireworks that could knock down a wall.

• A hollow cow,

• The Labyrinth (for King Minos of Crete).

• Lenses, that when set together could see as far as the stars.

• Ships that could sail under the sea.

• A sword which made the owner victorious in battle and equally successful in the chase 

• A temple of Apollo with a golden roof (in Cumae).

• Weapons for twelve ships (for King Minos of Crete).

• Wings that allowed a man to fly.
